Zoid Gun Sniper WIP

I am modeling a huge robot battle dinosaur. Not just for the pleasure of doing so, but to also apply to a Maya mech rigging assignment we have coming up in the next few weeks. Any Zoids fans out there? I used to watch that show all the time after school when I was younger, this is a tribute to how awesome I think these mechs still are… gosh I’m such a nerd :D

This is the low-detail base mesh, which will be much cooler once I put more time and detail into it. Maybe if it turns out well I will make another kind of zoid and animate a kick-ass mech battle!

Hi, your Zoid mech looks pretty good. Saw some triagles but none n-sided polygs. Saw some polygons crossing each other too, but all of it will be a worry depending on what you gonna do with the model. I’ve found this topology guide and maybe it helps translate what I wanna say: http://gregory.kramida.home.comcast.net/~gregory.kramida/AlgoTutorials/TopologyGuide/TopologyGuide.xhtml . But, as a whole, it looks great for a inorganic model in my humble opinion. :D

*gasp!* A triangle? Where!? I’ll hunt down this little bastard and destroy him. The purpose of this model is just to look cool and be animated, because I will be using it at lighting and rigging practice.
Hey thanks for the link, I like it!

XD Sorry…. Thought that polys on the cap of the main leg axis (the big cilinder and all those cilinders) were all triangles… Good to know are all quad, a like this kind of topology and have to say that is not so easy to keep everything 4. Nice and respectable 4 quad model.
